Rescue The Perishing

Wow!  Where do I start?  This was allot like a mini-Mardi Gras.  Where we were at we mostly saw 20-somethings hopped-up on beer.  The lewdness and mockery was overwhelming.  These poor souls need Jesus in their lives in a bad way.  They fill their emptiness with alcohol, drugs, and sex only to find themselves empty again.

One of the first confrontations was from a guy that screamed, "Shut up RETARD!!" every time we attempted to preach.  Since we had a 1/2 mile haler and he didn't, we outlasted him easily.  This guy was sharing with us that there is NO God and that we were retards for preaching.  He will have a rude awakening on judgment day if he doesn't repent and believe.  Some day he will repent and believe... It's going to happen on judgment day or sooner.  That's a guarantee.

The next guy we encountered was a college student that asked me why my God is better than all the others.  I told him that Jesus is the only one that dealt with sin.  He is the only one that is still alive.  And, all the other gods are false gods.  If I remember correctly, I think I also mentioned that Mohammad was a child molester.
We had Catholics come up to us in droves.  Apparently they didn't like it when we preached that Mary is not the co-redeemer.  When we mentioned that they must be born again, they thought they already were when they were baptized as an infant.  John 3:3 was expounded and some heard the true gospel presented to them for the first time.

We were appalled when a youth pastor from one of the largest churches in Cincinnati came up to us and was complaining about our preaching.  He asked us how many people we saved.  Our answer.... "0".  We can't save anyone.  That is a work of God, not us.  We warn of judgment and point to the cross.  The Holy Spirit does the rest.  :)  Anyhow, this joker was talking with Bro. Jim and in talking about the Holy Spirit, he said, "f-ing Holy Spirit...." ?????  He used the f-word in reference to the Holy Spirit!  A YOUTH PASTOR???  He then proceeded to tell us that he can live any way he wants to and he is still saved.  We attempted to correct this guy's doctrine using scripture but he wouldn't even look at the Bible.  Jim and I both rebuked this guy openly and let him know that he was a sorry excuse for a minister of the gospel.  I also felt lead to let him know that according to his actions, he was not saved.  Needless to say, he wasn't too happy with the conversation but... the truth hurts sometimes.

All in all, this was a fruitful outreach.  We preached to 1000's if not 10's of 1000's.  They have been given the gospel.  They have been warned of judgment day.  There is no excuse for them.  Keep them in prayer as the word of God does it's work.
